Scarlett Johansson On Her First Concert Ever (It Was Cypress Hill And She Was Super High)

Everyone knows Scarlett Johansson. The prolific actress has been captivating audiences on screen for decades, starring in some of the most iconic films of our time.

But perhaps not everyone knows details of her personal life, such as the fact that she has a twin brother and two goldfish named Jingles and Bubbles. These were just some of the tidbits she revealed during her recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. There, the host subjected the actress to a quirky questionnaire that led her to talk about everything from her favorite sandwich (the Blimpie Best) to what she thinks happens to us after we die (we go back to the Matrix).

She also shared how her first concert ever was to see the band Cypress Hill. Alone? Accompanied? “I must have gone with a friend… I don’t remember, ’cause I was so high…” she admitted to the audience’s laughter.

“I think it was at Roseland, and I remember they rolled this huuuuge blunt, THIS big! It was like the size of a Blimpie Best” she explained, gesturing with her hands. “And they smoked it on stage, all the members of the band, and then they passed it around the whole Roseland. Those were the days, man!

“Wow, it wasn’t even legal at the time,” Colbert aptly remarked. For context: the Roseland Ballroom was a very popular event venue in New York City that closed in 2014.

Of course, this isn’t much of a surprise to those more familiar with Johansson’s private life: the actress has mentioned her fondness for marijuana several times. Apparently, she was quite a pothead in high school. How so? Sources claim that she and her boyfriend were the “Cheech and Chong” of the campus. What’s more, she even has a strain named after her.
